Learn more about CoolSculpting at our Albuerque med spa

A recently reported milestone is shedding light on the growing popularity of CoolSculpting for non-surgical fat reduction.

The folks at ZELTIQ® Aesthetics, the company behind CoolSculpting, announced recently that it has shipped its 2,000,000th treatment cycle. ZELTIQ estimates that achievement amounts to the treatment of about 500,000 people worldwide.

CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared treatment that reduces fat in problem areas through a process called Cryolipolysis®. The fat cells are essentially frozen and later flushed from the body without causing harm to surrounding tissues. Since receiving FDA clearance in 2010, CoolSculpting has been used in more than 70 countries, according to ZELTIQ.

Here’s what I think this latest milestone means for the future of CoolSculpting and for my patients at AlluraDerm MD Med Spa:

  • Acceptance: No longer considered a “new” treatment, CoolSculpting has earned widespread acceptance for its proven results. As this acceptance grows, I believe more men and women who are curious about CoolSculpting will give it a try.
  • Advancement: While the core science behind CoolSculpting remains the same, the technology has seen a number of improvements over the years, including the addition of the CoolSmooth™Applicator that allows for treatment of the outer thighs, or so-called saddlebags. I foresee more improvements to the CoolSculpting device and additional applicators in the future.
  • Affordability: It’s no secret that as gadgets become easier to manufacture, they often tend to become more affordable. I’m hopeful that will be the case with CoolSculpting. For the meantime, I always make sure to do my part to offer discounts. (Through the month of July, receive 50% off one treatment applicator, or buy 5 and receive the 6th treatment applicator free.)

If you are interested in trying CoolSculpting, contact AlluraDerm for a consultation. I look forward to chatting with you about this expanding treatment.
