Fraxel® vs. Dual Fraxel® – What’s the Difference?
If you are researching laser treatments to improve your skin, you might have noticed there are two types of Fraxel® laser resurfacing treatments: Fraxel® re:store and the newer Fraxel® re:store Dual.
What’s the difference?
Both the older version of Fraxel® and the new Fraxel® re:store Dual remove damaged skin cells deep underneath the skin, stimulating natural collagenproduction so your skin looks its best.
Fraxel® re:store Dual is an updated version of the original Fraxel® system. Fraxel® re:store Dual still has the traditional 1550n laser found in the first-generation Fraxel® system. This wavelength penetrates deep into skin.
Fraxel® re:store Dual also adds a 1927mm Thulium fiber laser for more superficial treatment of the skin. It is the only laser with this wavelength. This is where the whole “dual” thing comes in!
That means you are getting superficial and deep resurfacing in the same treatment.
At AlluraDerm, we can now do more with less treatments thanks to Fraxel® re:store Dual. It’s more comfortable, and we can cut treatment times thanks to its effectiveness. There is no wound care with Fraxel® re:store Dual.
Fraxel® re:store Dual treats skin conditions like surgical scars, age spots, acne scars, melasma, and mild to moderate wrinkles. It is also used to improve the appearance of burns and decrease pore size.
If you’re ready for Fraxel® re:store Dual laser treatment, what can you expect?
You might have some redness and swelling for a few days after the treatment. After that, your skin will feel rough. That’s a good thing! It means your skin is about to peel, revealing fresh skin underneath. Your skin will return to its usual color after 5-10 days.
If you want to feel confident about your skin, Victor Mancha, M.D., of AlluraDerm can help.
Dr. Mancha’s patients have reported great—sometimes even life-changing—results from our Fraxel® re:store Dual laser system. If you are interested in Fraxel® re:store Dual, call us at 505-821-9630 for a free initial consultation.
